Carols by Candlelight & Christmas Market

11221936_935649406482335_6700675048281712666_nJoin the Kirstenhof community for a festive Christmas Market followed by Carols by Candelight on Saturday the 5th December 2015 from 5pm – 8:30pm. There will be lots of crafts, food and fun activities for the children. Once the sun sets – the bands will start playing and we will light the Kirstenhof sky with our candles and sing Christmas carols together.

TEARS Tree Project

kirstenhofTEARS Animal Rescue has put together The “TEARS Tree Project”. A Christmas Tree sits in the foyer of Kirstenhof Primary School and is covered in cardboard balls with a picture of a cat/dog/kitten or puppy who currently is waiting for their forever home at TEARS.

On the back is that animals Christmas wish for toys, blankets, food etc. Please visit Kirstenhof Primary School and choose an animal to either give a loving home too or provide much needed goodies for. The last day for drop off is Wednesday the 9th December at 13h00 and all items can be dropped off and placed under the tree.

Community Spring Picnic and Market Day

KirstenhofJoin your community for a fun morning and help raise funds to improve the Kirstenhof Parks. There will be jumping castles, market stalls, a kids corner, food stalls, magic show and lots more. Goodie bags for the first 100 donations over R50 plus spot prizes. Bring your picnic blanket and meet your neighbours!

Come along and visit the Christmas in July Craft Market that will take place on Sunday the 5th July at 6 Leeufontein Road, Kirstenhof from 13:00pm – 16:00pm.

Have a glass of Glue-vine to warm you up and take home some bric n brac. Accessorize yourself with fashionably handmade costume jewellery, hand knitted gloves, hand knitted and crocheted scarves & beanies.

Decorate your home with hand painted table cloths, table runners, candle holders and wood craft.

Support the Animal Rescue stall.

Beautify and pamper yourself with an eyebrow shape & tint by Dale. Sole Sister: Advanced medical foot care, offering a 10 minute aromatherapy foot soak & massage with foot care advice. Let Dawn Sh’Zen you with her products.

If you have a sweet tooth visit the fudge and honey ladies. Cakes, tarts, jams and biscuits will also be on sale and you can treat yourself to a hot cuppa after a good days shop.

If you love Vinyl come along and listen to some golden oldies and even take one home with you. Enjoy and be surprised at what you may find at the Christmas in July Market.

Kirstenhof Community Police Forum AGM

header-image-mewThe Kirstenhof Community Police Forum will be holding their 2014 AGM  this Thursday 13 November at 19h30 at The Range on Orpen Road, Tokai. This will be a regular AGM with the usual approvals and annual report backs. This year there will also be an election of the Executive Committee for a 5-year term in office.

SAPS School Shoes Project

The SAPS Provincial Office is launching a community outreach programme on Thursday the 16th October 2014 in Zwelentemba, Worcester Cluster.

Lieutenant Colonel June Cillers and Warrent Officer Bartlett were tasked to help the province donate 1000 pairs of black school shoes to underprivileged children in that area (aged 7-8 and 9-11).

Chas Everitt would like to add to his donation and collect 100 pairs of black school shoes from Kistenhof residents who would like to support this worthy cause. Contact Chas Everitt on 021 712 5029 and they will collect the shoes and drop them off at the SAPS in Kirstenhof.

Spring Walk

tokai parkKirstenhof residents are invited to join the Friends of Tokai Park at their Spring Walk within a section of the restored area of Tokai Park on Sunday 5th October.

There is no charge and everyone is most welcome. The walk will be about one hour.

SAPS Kirstenhof proposes to host a Fun Day full of sports and sunshine on Saturday 27 September 2014 at the Cape Academy for Maths and Science situated in Firgrove Way, Constantia which is close to Uitsig Wine Farm.
The purpose of this event is to build a stronger relationship between the greater community that they serve daily and their SAPS members. It is also their way to say thank you to the community for their incredible support over this last year and before we enter the festive season.
The Fun Day starts at 10:30 and involves various activities on the sports fields of the Academy including cricket, soccer, touch rugby and volleyball. Each match will be played over 20 minutes with a half-time period of 5 minutes. Adults and children are encouraged to enter as many sports as possible on arrival.Braai’s and drinks will be provided for all at alow cost. There will also be other food stalls and many other activities will take place.Any profits raised during the course of the day from the sponsored items will be in Aid of crime prevention and crime watchers in the Kirstenhof precinct.

Members at the Kirstenhof police station are looking forward to spending some time with you and meeting your family and neighbours!

Help the Rural Child Bag-A-Thon for Mandela Day

Collect a bag from our shops in Kirstenhof at 254 Main Road (021 712 3070) and Retreat in Station Road (021 712 2728) and fill it with clothing, bric a brac and books for 67 minutes on 18 July and return it. All proceeds from our shops help support the Goegedacht Path out of Poverty Rural Youth Centres (POP).
