KCW Ice Cream Sunday

KCW Ice Cream Sunday

Kirstenhof friends and neighbours! Please come out to support the Heifers and KCW’s “Ice-Cream Sunday” on 25th February 2018. We’ll have a special ice-cream van “patrolling” our neighbourhood and hope to see all of our neighbours and their kids out on their streets between 4pm – 6pm. Let’s put a wonderful sense of fun and community spirit back into our lovely neck of the woods.

** NB** Please let us know what roads NOT to miss so we can plot it out and we’ll let you know our planned route ahead of time. **

We look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones!

Carols by Candlelight & Christmas Market

11221936_935649406482335_6700675048281712666_nJoin the Kirstenhof community for a festive Christmas Market followed by Carols by Candelight on Saturday the 5th December 2015 from 5pm – 8:30pm. There will be lots of crafts, food and fun activities for the children. Once the sun sets – the bands will start playing and we will light the Kirstenhof sky with our candles and sing Christmas carols together.

What’s the Kirstenhof Market Doing?

So far in 2015 there has been a significant reduction in sales in Kirstenhof compared to 2014. Statistics to date are:
67 Sales with a Rand Value of 125,000,000 at an average sales price of R1,877,000
44 Sales with a Rand value of R88,000,000 at an average sales price of just over R2,000,000

House prices have increased slightly by 6% but there has been a dramatic drop of 34% in the number of sales concluded this year. This may be due to many factors such as insecurity or instability due to the current economic outlook. However several of Bruce Haywood’s clients have indicated that they love their suburb Kirstenhof for its convenience and value for money amongst other things and that they simply would prefer to stay where they are rather than scale up at the present time.

Kirstenhof remains as popular as ever for all age groups and at to a certain extent has become a Sellers market.

Contact Chas Everitt agent Bruce Haywood on 082 555 6810 if you have any property related queries.

TEARS Tree Project

kirstenhofTEARS Animal Rescue has put together The “TEARS Tree Project”. A Christmas Tree sits in the foyer of Kirstenhof Primary School and is covered in cardboard balls with a picture of a cat/dog/kitten or puppy who currently is waiting for their forever home at TEARS.

On the back is that animals Christmas wish for toys, blankets, food etc. Please visit Kirstenhof Primary School and choose an animal to either give a loving home too or provide much needed goodies for. The last day for drop off is Wednesday the 9th December at 13h00 and all items can be dropped off and placed under the tree.

Notice from the Kirstenhof Crime Watch:
Children in our neighbourhood often like to dress up for Halloween and go “trick or treating”. If you would like to participate and have them ring your doorbell, please decorate your gate with something “Halloween-ish” (e.g. an orange balloon, jack-o-lantern etc.) and get your bowl of treats ready.

While the Kirstenhof Crime Watch can’t prevent children from ringing your doorbell should you not want to participate, they are doing their best to spread the word that children should only visit the ‘decorated’ houses.

The KCW also suggests that children walk in groups, preferably with adults. Please remember that anything suspicious, apart from the Halloween monsters, can be reported to CVIC on 0860-00-2669 or to one of the community Whatsapp groups.
